Also highlighted in our “Design / Build” section, we originally reverse engineered and supplied individual components for this legacy packaging equipment. We eventually reduced approximately 4000 parts to 1500 by applying our experience in simplification of design. A typical example is shown in the 2 drawings. A Subsystem of 37 components was reduced to 17 after a Steinmetz re-design. The duty cycle was increased by a factor of 10X and cost reduced by 40%.
